Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua
June 13, 2017
June 13, 2017
We need your help for our celebration on the Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua on June 13. This year is the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima's Apparition to the three children. On the same day, we will celebrate the second month of Apparition of the Blessed Mother in Fatima which was on June 13, 1917.
On May 11, 2017, the chapel received some relics of Saint Anthony of Padua from the Basilica of Padua, Italy. We will put them in the main altar and will be venerating them for the procession on his feast day. Unfortunately, we don't have the reliquary or a relic holder to hold these sacred relics.

We started the restoration of authentic Catholicism in HIndang, Leyte in 2012. We were offering the Mass at different locations. We set up a small chapel in a house for less than a year. This chapel was dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel and St. Joseph, both are protectors of the Church. Here are the pictures and video of the old chapel. Unfortunately, the Chapel had to be removed from the house which was damaged by a strong typhoon.
We finally set up the new chapel made of wood. Though it is not a permanent chapel, we are doing our best to make it beautiful. We dedicated the chapel under the patronage of Saint Anthony of Padua, Hammer of Heretics. The chapel is made of wood. We have a short history of our first mission here.
In 2016, we made our first celebration of St. Anthony's feast day on June 13. We had a beautiful ceremony and Mass offered by Fr. Remi Picot. Here are the photos and the video of the celebration. It was a beautiful experience and we had a procession after the Mass. The procession went well but it was difficult for us to hear the prayers because there was no sound system. The priest had to shout very loud.
The Mass started at 10 AM and the procession was around noon. We had a long preparation for the event. It was not really easy to prepare the things. We had to rent chairs because our chairs in the chapel were not enough to accommodate the parishioners and other visitors. We had to pay for the beautiful flowers, curtains, candles and other decorations. We also had to prepare for the food for everybody. This mission is really new and our parishioners are not really rich. It is even hard for them to send their kids to school. They don't have stable jobs. We are even trying to help them. So, we don't expect too much from them to contribute for the chapel. Last fiesta, we spent a lot of money for the food because there were many people and visitors from different towns. It is a Filipino culture and tradition to prepare food during the fiesta celebration.
This June 13, 2017, we will have our second Fiesta celebration in honor of St. Anthony of Padua. We are knocking your kind heart to help us and assist us in this celebration. We want it more beautiful to give glory to God and His Saints and to show to the public how beautiful the Roman Catholic Church is. We will have the Fiesta Mass in the evening and the procession after. It is more beautiful to have the procession in the evening with lighted candles. We are looking for help to:
1. Buy Flowers
2. Buy Wall Curtains
3. Rent Chairs
4. Create a small Carosa (a vehicle to hold the image during the procession)
5. Buy Candles for the Procession
6. Buy a portable Amplifier or Speaker for the sound system in the procession
7. Buy projector for showing the movie of the life of Saint Anthony of Padua and the story of Fatima
We will post the videos and the pictures after the celebration.
May St. Anthony of Padua helps you to be strong in your faith and to fight the heretics and the enemies of our holy religion. Take care always and God bless.
